Rusty Resonant Garage Door
This mini-library explores the unique acoustic characteristics of a single aluminum garage door located within a tunnel. The specific combination of the door’s resonant metallic material and the natural acoustics of the tunnel creates an unusually "large" sound with a deep, expansive decay.
In addition to manual movements, the collection features a dedicated automatic entrance door used to access the tunnel. This specific mechanism is exceptionally noisy, characterized by sharp mechanical squeaks and metallic friction. These recordings are designed not only for literal foley use but as high-quality source material for complex mechanical sound design and industrial layers.
Captured with a Sanken CSS-5 microphone in Stereo mode, the recordings maintain a precise balance between the close-up mechanical detail and the natural environmental response of the tunnel. The result is a spacious and authentic soundstage, ready for seamless integration into cinematic or game audio projects.
